China Light Armour Chopper Z-10 show in Singpapore Air Show
Z-10ME makes its first overseas public debut! Chinese military expert said: one of the top medium-sized armed helicopters in the world.
On February 20, 2024, the Singapore Air Show kicked off at the Changi Convention and Exhibition Center. On February 20th, Global Times reporter learned from Aviation Industry Corporation of China that at this year's Singapore Airshow, Aviation Industry Corporation of China Limited made its debut again at the Singapore Airshow with the theme of "Working Together to Create Value" after two years. The exhibits at the exhibition are led by the "20 Family" and cover seven categories of military and civilian aviation products with high technological level and broad market prospects, including fighter jets, transport planes, helicopters, trainer planes, drones, special aircraft, and emergency rescue aircraft. Among them, the Z-10ME armed helicopter real aircraft series made its public debut at overseas air shows for the first time.
It is understood that the Z-10ME armed helicopter is a brand new 6-ton medium-sized multi-purpose attack helicopter independently developed by China. It adopts a single rotor with tail rotor configuration and a narrow fuselage serial cockpit layout. This type of armed helicopter has good flight performance and ultra-low altitude maneuverability, strong strike firepower, high battlefield survivability, good human-machine efficiency, high reliability and maintainability, and advanced support resources. It can carry out various combat tasks in all-weather, complex battlefield environments and field support conditions.
Zhang Xuefeng believes that the Z-10 helicopter itself has advantages such as a large combat radius and strong maneuverability, and the Z-10ME has undergone some changes in appearance compared to the Z-10. The details also show that the Z-10ME has stronger performance.
"Firstly, the Z-10ME has added a lot of additional armor on top of the Z-10, which clearly improves its battlefield survival ability, especially when facing attacks from small artillery and light weapons." Zhang Xuefeng said.
It is not difficult to find through comparison that the Z-10ME carries more sensors on top of the Z-10. Zhang Xuefeng introduced that the Z-10ME has been equipped with laser alarms, missile approach alarms, and optoelectronic countermeasures. For example, the Z-10ME is equipped with a directional infrared interference system, which can launch laser interference to attack the infrared seeker of portable air defense missiles. These devices can also further improve the battlefield survival capability of the Z-10ME.
In addition to the above characteristics, the powerful onboard weapons of the Z-10ME are also a major highlight. Zhang Xuefeng believes that the range of the Z-10ME weapon system may become longer. Overall, the Z-10ME has greatly improved its battlefield survival, mobility, and firepower strike capabilities.
